Children's Programs

Events and programs are subject to cancellation
one week before the scheduled date if fewer than 10
children enroll. Registration is required for all
programs and events. Please stop by the Children's
Room or call 412-828-9520 x18 to register.

Due to unexpected staffing issues,
we will be unable to offer all of our scheduled
programs.
The following Fall 2008 programs are
cancelled: Monday Toddler Storytime Just For
Kids Book Club

Storytimes
For the months of October and
November: For toddlers (24 to 36
months): Thursdays at 10:30
am For preschoolers (3 to 5 years
old): Tuesdays at 10:30 am or
Wednesdays at 1:00 pm
There will be no storytimes from
November 24th to November 27th in
observance of
Thanksgiving. Registration
is for a month at a time. Call the
Children's Department at 412-828-9520 x18, or stop

Calling all swash-bucklers! Get ready
for everything to do with pirates. We'll
read books, play games, embark on a treasure hunt
and make our own pirate gear. For children
ages 5 and
up. |

Welcome back, Thomas! Date
to be Announced
Help us to welcome back the Thomas the
Train set. After some much-needed repairs,
our train set will be ready for all of our young
conductors. We will have a party for his
return, complete with cake. Signs will be
posted in the Children's room with a definite
date. |

Pinkalicious Party Saturday,
October 11th at 1:00 pm
Think pink! Read pink! Eat
pink! We are becoming pinkalicious with
books, games, crafts and food! For children
ages 5 and up. |

Spooky Storytime Thursday,
October 30th at 6:30 pm
Our favorite storyteller, Alison Babusci,
returns for an evening of spine-tickling
stories. Participants are invited to wear
costumes. The program will be followed by a
craft and refreshments. For children ages 5
and up. |

Meet Kaya -- An American Girl
Party Saturday, November 8th at 1:00
pm
We'll discuss Kaya, an American Girl, and
learn about the Nez Perce Native American way of
life. Kaya will introduce us to the American
Northwest of 1764. For readers of the
American Girl
series. |

Barbara Kaczor, a Native storyteller, will
be visiting the library with Native American
stories, dance ceremony accessories and a
craft. For children ages 5 and

What do we like to do in the winter?
Storyteller Sally Aiken will bring a special
program of stories and songs to help get us ready
for the winter
season. |
